As detailed in previous communications, we are revising some items of our school uniform from September 2021. *Please see the images below.
The Lydiate Learning Trust and school leaders recognise that new school uniforms can be expensive, and we would therefore like to offer our support. Changes to your child’s uniform should not result in any expected additional cost. New items will be available from the 1st July.
Maintaining high standards of school uniform is proven to raise children’s aspirations and increase rates of improvement in schools. Childwall Sports and Science Academy have made significant improvements over the last two years. Student outcomes have progressed rapidly.
More children are in attendance and the school environment has been updated with care and consideration. It is important that this continues for your child, to enable them to receive the educational experiences they deserve.
Ties: New school ties will have the same base colour and layout as the current school tie. However, the two horizontal lines will frame the new school logo and will have a different colour to represent each year group. Your child’s first tie will be issued free by school in September 2021. Spares will be available to purchase from the school office from September 2021 and the retailers listed below.
Blazers: The school blazer has changed. The base colour remains the same navy-blue, but the new logo is now embroidered onto the pocket and the trim is now red. New blazers will also be issued to current students for free, those joining in Year 7 will be expected to purchase as usual.
Jumpers: Branded jumpers and cardigans are available for you to purchase from the named retailers. These are preferred, but not essential. Plain navy-blue ‘V’ neck jumpers and plain navy-blue cardigans are perfectly acceptable.
PE Kit: Kits have also been rebranded. This consists of a choice of two different style of tops and a pair of shorts or a skort. We suggest that old kit is replaced for new only when your child has grown out of their current PE kit. Students may continue to wear their current kit if it is still suitable.
This must be worn at all times unless teachers permit removal during a lesson.

Academy ties must be worn at all times and must show the school badge.
Plain black leather shoes must be worn at all times. Vans, and converse are not permitted. Further details on permitted shoe styles are listed above.
