Extra Curricular

Extra-curricular activities allow our students to gain new experiences, enjoyment and skills outside of lessons. We offer a range of sports, arts and other extra-curricular activities at Childwall Sports and Science Academy at lunch time and after school. We aim to develop students' character, engagement, and love of learning. Our offer is updated on a regular basis. Please see our current extra-curricular activities below.

Cooking Challenge!

Are you a budding cook or do you like baking cakes? Do you like to cook fabulous recipes or dishes from around the world?

Every two weeks your technology teacher will set a ‘Great British Bake Off’ style recipe challenge for students to make at home. We will put this on the schools Twitter account and hand out recipe sheets in D and T lessons.  Students can email images of their baking to Mr Lewis, Miss K and Mr Fitzsimons. We will pick a winner and will look at catering related prizes. Images of each students baking will be displayed on the school’s social media.

Calling all year 7, 8, 9 and 10 students aged between 11 and 14 who love problem solving and inventing!

The Bright Ideas Challenge is back for the sixth year, asking students aged 11-14 to use their STEM skills and creativity to come up with innovative energy solutions to power cities of the future. You could win up to £10,000 for their school, high-tech goodie bags and action-packed educational experiences, so there is every reason to think big!

See your technology teacher for details and they will let you know how you can get involved.
