Summer School Success at Childwall
Childwall Sports and Science Academy’s Summer School proved a resounding success, giving our new Year 7 students the perfect start to their journey with us. The four day programme formed an important part of our transition process, designed to ease the move from primary to secondary school and ensure every student feels confident and ready for September.
Over 120 students took part in a lively timetable of activities that combined fun, friendship and challenge including sports challenges that brought energy, teamwork and plenty of smiles. Across the week, students also enjoyed a mix of lessons, assemblies and enrichment opportunities designed to spark curiosity and build new friendships.
Students reflected positively on the experience. Amira said: “I liked trying so many different activities and it helped me feel more confident about starting at Childwall.” Daniel added: “I’ve made new friends and really enjoyed the sports challenges.”
Head of Year 7 Mr Corrigan commented: “The Summer School was a great success. We saw confidence grow each day and students really embraced everything on offer.” Ms. Harriman, Head of Year 7, added: “It has been fantastic to see how well the week has gone. The students have been enthusiastic, positive and eager to get involved – a great sign of what’s to come in September.”
The week closed with a celebration assembly, marking the achievements of a cohort already showing teamwork, resilience and ambition.
