Welcome from the AGC Chair

On behalf of myself and my fellow Governors, I am delighted to welcome you to the Childwall Sports and Science Academy, part of the Lydiate Learning Trust. I hope the website gives you a flavour of the vision to Engage, Enable and Empower all of our students.

At Childwall Academy there is a huge sense of community and pride in the achievements within the school, especially following the recent Ofsted inspection and subsequent ‘Good’ rating. As Governors, we are proud to work with the school community, alongside Headteacher Ms. Vincent and her leadership team, to ensure that we continue this upward trajectory of school improvement to deliver the best possible outcomes for our pupils.

Our role as Governors is to set the strategic direction and vision for the Academy, supporting and complementing the skills of the teaching staff to deliver on our mission for every student to be ‘Learning without Limits’. We want our students to receive not only an excellent academic education but real-world knowledge, skills, and experiences to help them thrive in whatever they choose to do when they leave school and equip them with the confidence and cultural capital they need to succeed in life.

We know that we’re going to face some challenging times ahead as government funding decreases and costs rise. Now more than ever we are extremely appreciative of the continued support from the parents and carers within the school, and we will continue to support our community where we can.

Excellent education and a positive overall school experience can provide the building blocks to improve our students' future, this is something we strive for at Childwall Academy.
